On March 4th, 2024, I volunteered for 4 hours at the MADA community centre downtown. My sister and I worked in the kitchen, helping with food preparation. We peeled carrots and onions, and cut them as well. It was a bit tiring to do, since we were standing up the whole time, repeating the same movements over and over again, but it was also a good experience. We talked to some of the people working there and they were very nice, and one woman gave us tips on how to peel the carrots more efficiently. The vegetables we cut were then sent to the kitchen to be prepared into meals, which were then brought upstairs and packed into boxes that are given to those in need. I feel proud to have helped and hopefully made someone's life a little easier.
